TEHRAN -- The Geneva-based International Cooperative Alliance (ICA) seeks Iran's cooperation to rebuild Afghan cooperative movement, director of ICA regional office Shil Kwan Lee said in Tehran on Sunday.

The ICA Asia-Pacific office director said that the regional office has 760 million members adding that ICA expects Iran's cooperative movement to help rebuild Afghan cooperative sector in cooperation with the specialized international agency.

Lee said that Iran has high standard of expertise in the cooperative sector and would take effective steps to rebuild Afghan cooperative movement ruined under Taleban rule.

He said that ICA will hold an exhibitition in Tehran to help set up relationship between Iranian and International Cooperative Movement.

Meanwhile, head of ica western, southern and central Asian office B.D. Sharma accompanying Lee told the press conference that ICA has planned to work with Iran to develop cooperative movement which would be effective in economic development.

Sharma said that ICA will develop cooperation with Iran's Ministry of Cooperatives through holding the international exhibition of cooperatives in Tehran.
